Music so beautiful you want to cry

I’m listening to Eva Cassidy’s version of Over the Rainbow at the moment. There are a couple of songs that are so simply gorgeous that I spontaneously burst into tears every time I hear them. This is one.

The other is Gabriel by Lamb. If I had to chose one favourite song, this may well be it. Sob!

    Music is funny like that.

    Boards of Canada do the same for me. Except its a more profound feeling - more like someone has tapped into my subconscious and played it as music. Its equally comforting and disturbing to listen to, but oh so utterly beautiful.

    I realise Boards of Canada are Scottish, but those Canadians sure know how to make music. I’ve just discovered the joys of The Arcade Fire. Oh. My. Goodness.
