Matters of the heart
Good news! As far as heart, aorta et al goes, I’m reasonably healthy. And now I have the coolest 3D images to boot! I write about technology each and every day, but you really start to understand how truly wonderful it can be when you look at its medical applications. The specialist said that they can create 3D models that allow them to operate remotely. At the risk of sounding like I’m some old timer, when I was operated on Xray was pretty much it. Ultrasound too, but it was all pretty new and expensive. The images they can get these days are insane.
Anyway, Doc says my aorta looks good. I have a bicuspid aortic valve in my heart - it has two flaps instead of three - which has some calcification on it. In all probability, it will need to be replaced at some stage and I’ll have to go onto blood thinners. But for the moment it’s all good! Yeeha!
I already have an appointment for another echo next year - just to keep an eye on everything. So I’m going to forget about it all until then.
I will try to scan the awesome heart pics tho…was almost worth my 700 bucks!
