Swandives

Remember when the internet was shiny and new and you could find genuinely cool stuff on it? Then it got all corporatised and boring and full of marketing gumph. Well, the lovely thing about the internet right now is that, for a brief moment in time, it’s a little bit like those early days. It won’t stay that way, I’m guesssing - poor old YouTube is already copping a beating in the press for its lack of revenue stream. But man, it’s a lovely ride.

Bugger social networking and the like. I really don’t care what some angsty teenager ate for breakfast. (And I’m sure they don’t care much for what I have to say either.) But check out this simply awesome piece of footage of Ike and Tina Turner.

I was actually trying to find footage of Nutbush City Limits - which I did, and it too was awesome. But this one is just a gem. It’s very early footage (1965) from a movie called The Big T.N.T Show.
