Testing time zones
I’m still tinkering. Just trying to work out the time zones as they’re all over the shop at the moment. If this works, the time should be right and this should be a smiley face ![]()
Still fiddling
I’ve changed the theme of the site. It’s made me realise how basic my web knowledge is! I’m signing myself up for a training course, as soon as I can work out what it is I don’t know (I am _that_ unskilled).
Actually, I have a lot more to say about the Big Brother hullaballoo, but I’m too busy right now to do so. Sob. So I’ll just say this: do politicians have any idea of the irony of intervening to ban a show called Big Brother?
2 commentsThe incident
I have found the link to the BB incident.
EDIT: Well, that didn’t last long. YouTube’s taken it offline due to inappropriate content.
EDIT2: Seems to be back up. Although for how long remains to be seen.
EDIT3: Oops. Back off again. But do a search for Camilla John and Ashley and you get three new ones..hehehe…gotta love the internet…it’s like a hydra!
2 commentsThree kilometres to go
This weekend I ran 11.3 km non-stop. It almost killed me. I’m now sore but mighty proud of myself - I am no runner and it’s the furthest I’ve ever run in my life. The City-to-Surf is 14 km. We’re officially entered. So I have another 3 km to go. I still have a lot of work ahead.
It doesn’t help that despite all the running (I’ve done over 16 km in two days), I’ve managed to put on weight. So much for losing 5kg. Sigh. I’m not eating any more than normal, although I haven’t managed to give up chocolate - it’s probably the problem. I’ve been telling myself it’s muscle but the fact is, even allowing for building muscle mass, I shouldn’t be putting on weight. C’est la vie. But I don’t have to like it.
I’ve been online trying to track down a vid of the Big Brother incident that has everybody in a lather. So far no luck, although it is being sold on eBay for $5. I’m not desperate enuf to pay for it. I’ve read the transcript and it seems that BB did the right thing booting them off.
What’s not on, in my opinion, is politicians using the incident to ban the show. I appreciate the show is, on one level, complete trash. And that many people don’t like it. That’s fair enough. They’re not being forced to watch it. But whatever you think about the show and it’s quality it has done one very important thing - highlight the way sexual harrassment happens. I think that’s important. These people knew they were under scrutiny and yet the incident still happened. Use this incident to ban a television show and all you’re doing is sweeping a serious problem under the carpet. It’s not the way to deal with it.
