Nice bit of writing
This is a lovely bit of writing about the game last night. From somebody who was obviously there. Sums it all up very nicely, conveying feeling with being OTT.

No commentsI'm on a mission
I been bad with the entries. Shoulda posted about my awesome week of live music last week - Chris Isaak and Split Enz (x2). But I haven't. Me bad.
And, with the World Cup in full swing, it's unlikely I'm gonna get round to doing so. I'm hopeless. Watched the first 20 mins last night until Japan scored and then shut myself in the bedroom with my fingers in my ears so I couldn't hear the commentary for the next 50 minutes. But even that wasn't enought to drown out the yells from my beloved when Australia finally did score. Then I came out and watched the next two goals. I think we woke up half the neighbourhood (but I'm not really that worried as when Greece won the European Championships, we were awoken by car horns as almost an entire suburb celebrated).
Anyway, my mission is to lose 5kg and run the City to Surf in August. I'm gonna need to shed the weight in order to get through it. And we're planning on running the 9km Bridge Run as a warm up. I have the muscle tone to do it - it's just that it's covered by a lovely winter-warming layer of fat! So it's veges galore for at least 6 weeks, and little to no chocolate.
Wish me luck. I'll need it - self control isn't my strongest point.

Tony Abbott yesterday offered his Sydney electorate, from plush Clifton Gardens to beachfront Dee Why, as a site for a nuclear reactor.
Onya Tony. Way to go for showing complete disregard for your electorate.
I gotta stop politics from annoying me so much. But it’s so hard with stuff like this going on.

JOHN Howard has forced New South Wales and Victoria to abandon plans to sell off the Snowy Hydro scheme after saying he would pull out of the deal.
The sale was now impractical following the Federal Government's decision not to sell its 13 per cent stake in the project NSW Premier Morris Iemma said today.
I suspect a whole lotta political jockying went on behind the scenes on this, but as long as it means they not gonna sell, I am happy. I might add that I don't quite believe it yet - I'm far too untrusting - but I'm certainly a lot happier.

All things Snowy
A LETTER signed by 56 well-known Australians will be handed to the federal, NSW and Victorian parliaments today, calling on them to suspend the sale of the Snowy Hydro scheme.
Former prime minister Malcolm Fraser, Justice Marcus Einfeld QC and actor Cate Blanchett are among the signatories to the letter, which will be handed over simultaneously at 10.30am.

Also, a dishonourable mention to Morris Iemma for attempting to hold NSW taxpayers to ransom:

NEW South Wales would miss out on new hospitals, roads and schools if the sale of the Snowy Hydro scheme did not go ahead, Premier Morris Iemma said today.
I'm not in the mood for a full-on rant today, but boy, is he testing my patience.
